The event will kick off on Friday, August 1st at 5 p.m. with a book signing at Stagecoach Mall featuring author Charlotte Endorf, formerly of Fairbury. Endorf has written several books about the Orphan Train and the North Platte Canteen. Endorf is also well known for her portrayal of Annie Oakley and presents programs to schools and civic groups throughout the state as a Humanities Nebraska speaker. Attendees can also participate in Fairbury’s First Friday Art Walk by visiting Fairbury’s downtown art galleries and enjoy a wine tasting event in The Tasting Room featuring WunderRosa Winery, a selection of hors d’oeuvres and live music by Denise Howe. Featured artist Alan Bartels, Field Editor of Nebraska Life magazine, will be sharing a personal photography exhibit from his travels throughout the state of Nebraska. A raffle quilt by the Jefferson County Quilt Guild will be on display and tickets will be available for purchase.

On Saturday, August 2nd at the Fairbury Elks Lodge, ten fascinating authors and speakers are scheduled to present programs ranging from Buffalo Bill’s Wild West to the art of trick roping. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Fairbury’s Architectural Elements Contest, recently featured in Nebraska Life magazine and enjoy the culinary arts of Chef Bob Albrecht of Main Street Coffee House. The event will conclude on Sunday, August 3rd, with free tours of the Fairbury City Museum from 1-4 pm.
